initial thoughts on #guix :
strong, elegant, CLEAN. best OS I have ever used BY FAR. the only thing missing from it is zfs
documentation is weird (?!), maybe it’s bad, but I’m still too unskilled to know. I tried using the stumpwm snippet, and it didn’t work. I had to change it. maybe a beginner would quit (!?). BUT : guix install is the way to go, and it’s easy
installation was the hardest part. use the balena etcher to create a usb image. it worked for me and was super fast. the download on install slowed to a halt (???!!) wtf. I changed to wifi, and then it worked (!!?). maybe it thought I was a spammer, and the slower speeds let me through (!?) when I downloaded the whole system again when I was in gnome, it was fast. I just don’t get it
finally, I’m home !!! I’ve been wanting to switch for a long time. Guix did not let me down. profiles, roll backs, scheme, etc, etc I LOVE IT. good stuff !
